The Winter Hunter is a Sniper weapon added in the 13.5.0 Festive Update. It can be upgraded to the Winter Hunter Up1.
Appearance[]
It resembles a marksman rifle with an infrared scope.
It has a extendable stock, connected to the body. It also has a black pistol grip, trigger, and a grey magazine. A large infrared scope can be seen mounted on top of the bolt.
The weapon also has a handguard, with a hand grip underneath, as well as a black folded bipod. At the front of the weapon, a grey barrel can be seen with a gas tube, front sights, and muzzle.
When the scope is used, it highlights heat signatures of enemies, which works on invisible enemies as well.
Strategy[]
It does decent damage, paired with its average fire rate, ammo capacity and mobility.
Tips[]
- Use this weapon at long distances to maximize the scope's usefulness.
- This can be also used in low light conditions and maps (such as Hunter's Woods).
- Be sure to aim for the head to maximize damage and conserve ammunition.
- When against an unarmored opponent, aim for the center of mass instead. They will be downed in a single body shot, and aiming for the center of mass can make aiming easier.
- Take the time to aim first if locked in a sniper duel.
Counters[]
- Get in close with a weapon with lots of damage, however, if you approach head-on, experienced players can kill you without using the scope. Ambush the user or attack from behind for the best results.
- Avoid routes which other users are known to frequent.
- You can counter this with an another sniper weapon, most notably Wall Break ones .
- Pick off its users from long ranges while still unsuspected.
- Area damage weapons are good counters due to their knockbacks where it will mess the users' aim. Use them in a range where the users can't mostly dodge the projectiles.
- Use a Smoke Grenade when attacking towards users to prevent being highlighted.
